State Responsibility and Investor-State Dispute Settlement – Hybrid Programme

The State Responsibility and Investor-State Dispute Settlement will take place on 13 November 2026 at Nishimura & Asahi in Tokyo. We will examine how the rules of State responsibility shape the conduct, defence and resolution of investor–State disputes.

The topic is particularly important as tribunals and States continue to confront complex questions concerning attribution, breach, causation, reparation and the relationship between customary international law and investment treaty obligations.

The hybrid event will bring together leading experts to discuss current developments in Japan, Asia and the wider ISDS landscape, followed by an audience Q&A and networking reception.

In-person participation is by invitation only, while online participation will be available through advance registration.
